Escentric Molecules 03 is a tribute to Vetiveryl Acetate, a hybrid of natural root and
synthetic, in two different fragrances.

Vetiveryl Acetate can be described as a hybrid molecule, half natural and half
half synthetic. It is a fraction of vetiver oil, distilled from the roots of an Indian grass, which
it is then “crossed” with acetic acid to eliminate the bitter and leathery notes of the root.
The result is an elegant and refined molecule with a woody, slightly herbaceous character.

“The acetylation also brings out the grapefruit touch of vetiver,” says Geza Schoen,
“making the top note more distinctly bitter and fresh.”

Escentric 03 is centered on Vetiver Acetate and pays homage to the three roots used in perfumery: vetiver, ginger and orris extracted from the roots of the Florentine lily. “I wanted Escentric 03 to bring out the olfactory impressions of these roots,” says Geza Schoen, “and to show how they harmonize with each other.” Ginger dominates the vibrant, green and spicy top note with lime zest and green pepper. The heart is dominated by the intense and velvety scent of lily, with notes of Egyptian jasmine and tea. The base emphasizes the strong green wood aroma of vetiver combined with sandalwood, cedar, soft balsams and musk.
